Yes you do need walking trousers or if the weather is good maybe walking shorts. The only way to realise this is try to do a long walk in jeans it wont be long before you get uncomfortable. There are many types of walking trousers, some are waterproof and some are not. Some can become too hot in summer and the waterproof ones make a scrunching sound when you walk. Needless to say you will need a selection of different types to match the different seasons of the year.
