I am currently recovering from an ankle sprain, and I'm (finally!) off crutches after being on them for nearly a month.I'm still in the boot that they gave me,but now that I'm walking,it's really bothering both of my hips because the profile is higher than any of my regular shoes, and lower than all of my heels,so I'm uneven.I'm going to see an orthopedic surgeon in a week, and if she says that I have to stay in the boot for longer,I'm going to ask for a different boot because my hips are really sore! So,I was wondering what type of boot you guys who have had them would recommend. Also, what about you medical professionals?Any suggestions for my situation?
You see,it was my sports doctor who put me in the boot, and that was a month ago.I haven't seen the ortho yet.My ankle also isn't healed enough to wear just an Aircast or lace up brace.I'm not walking with my full weight on my ankle, and I'm in a walking boot (http://ankleshop.com/proddetail.asp?prod=11%2D0461%2DX),so something less supportive is way out of the question!
