Im going to Coniston this weekend with my boyfriend to stay in his uncles cottage like we do every couple of months. The first time I went we did an easy walk to Elterwater and the second time we did the old man of coniston which almost killed me. Can anyone recommend any nice mostly flat walks around 2-3 miles long? I am very unfit but I do enjoy looking at the beautiful scenery so would just like a pleasant walk which is not too tiring! Thanks.

There's an old railroad bed which has been converted to a walking/cycling trail out of Keswick = beautiful trail, wide and mostly flat which runs 2-3 miles or so. Also, Moot Hall tourist office in Keswick has many suggestions for walks and hikes in the area. One idea is to take the lake steamer and get off at any one of the several stops, walk along the lake and get back on the steamer.
